Our Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering students are once again at the top in the 14th National Ship and Yacht Design Competition organized by the Association of Ship, Yacht, and Services Exporters (GYHİB)!
This year’s competition, held under the theme “Design of a Motorized Sailing Boat (Motorsailer) Under 24 Meters” and featuring 49 students from 13 universities competing with 17 projects, recognized the following winning projects:
🔹1. Nova | YTÜ
🔹2. Apeiron | YTÜ - İTÜ - Rumeli University
🔹3. El Turco | YTÜ - Yeditepe University
The project named “Nova,” developed by our faculty students Ali Tayyip Yıldız and Emre Büyükbayraktaroğlu, achieved a major success by winning first place.
True to tradition, YTÜ GİDF students also demonstrated their success by winning the Second and Third Place Awards with their teams.
The second-place award was presented to the team consisting of Eylül Arslanbay, Kaan Kırmızıgül, Ersin Doğan, and Z. Gülsüm Ağbulut for the project titled “Apeiron,” developed in collaboration between Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul Technical University, and Rumeli University.
Third place was awarded to the team consisting of Yiğit Can, Hüseyin Ensar Söylemez, and Yağmur Yılmaz—students from Yıldız Technical University and Yeditepe University—for their project titled “El Turco.”
